Installation Guide
Congratulations on the purchase of your new flooring! We understand that the installation process can be a bit daunting, but rest assured, our team will be with you every step of the way. Before you can start enjoying your new flooring, there are a few things you'll need to do to ensure a smooth installation. If you’re unsure about any step, don't hesitate to ask for our guidance.
Installing Flooring
Preparing your floor
Before installation, you’ll need to:
- Remove your existing floor. You may have opted for us to do this as part of our pricing, so don’t worry.
- Vacuum your flooring area if you’ve removed flooring
- Level and grind your floor (this job is usually done by our team)
- Prepare a space inside or outside your home where our team can cut/saw any flooring during the installation
Before installation
Before installation, you’ll need to:
- First, move any fragile objects out of cabinets so they don’t break when furniture is moved
- Move furniture away from the installation area
- Cover any air vents, heaters and nearby furniture
- Ensure there’s a clear pathway for installers to move in and out of your home
- Make sure power points are accessible and working
Installation day
On installation day, you’ll need to:
- Keep kids and pets away from the installation area
- Check your installation to make sure the look and feel are what you wanted
After installation
After installation, you’ll need to:
- Make sure you’ve placed appropriate protectors on the feet of your furniture to avoid damaging your new floor
- Return your furniture. Most flooring can be walked on within an hour of installation, so you won’t have to wait long
- Show off your new floor to our team! Send them a few happy snaps once you’ve settled in.
